Default Strange problem...

All righty then, see if the wizards can figure this out. Last few days if I sit at a stoplight for more than a minute or so,when I let off the brakes to take off, about halfway across the intersection the brake light comes on with a "DING"! Not the abs light, but the brake light on the dash. The same one that comes on when you pull the hand brake. Doesnt happen all the time, and usually only about once or twice and then not again. 2001 Limited by the way. 4 wheel disc. 95000 miles.

Go out to your PT right now and check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. Odds are that your low in fluid. There's a sensor somewhere in the container and when you take off from a stop the fluid is pushed back against the side and the sensor thinks/knows your low in brake fluid. It then sends a signal to turn the brake light on to let you know.

Complely agree, but I see you have 95,000 miles... you replaced the brake disks? They could've worn enough that the brake pistons are out further, dropping the fluid level.

Well, yeah it does need brakes. Got 1 rotor thats got a little shimmy to it. The fluid was down to about the seam in the reservoir. I dont think that was too low,but I topped it off and we'll see. Thanks to everyone.
