Default Front Lights on when locking/unlocking

Is there a way to minimize or remove how long the front lights from staying on when you locked/unlocked? Because after i locked my PT Cruiser 07, the front light just stayed on for awhile, and it's kind of annoying. Same thing happens sometimes when i unlock.

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure about the front lights, must be something new on the 06/07. Only the interior lights stay on for about 5 minutes before going out. I think the delay is built into the computer.

To be nice I've told lots of owners of other cars that they left their lights on and they tell me it's built in and sure enoough in a few minutes the lights go out by themselves.

Did you check the owners manual for any instructions about the lights?

From the 2007 Owners Manual:
Personal Settings (Customer Programmable
Features)

Chaper: UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL Page:231

This allows the driver to set and recall features when the
transmission is in PARK (automatic transmission) or the
vehicle is stopped (manual transmissions).
Press and release the EVIC button until Personal Settings
is displayed in the EVIC.
Use the EVIC button to display one of the following
choices:

Chapter: UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL Page:233

Turn Headlamps on with Remote Key Unlock
When this feature is selected the headlamps will activate
and remain on for up to 90 seconds when the doors are
unlocked using the remote keyless entry transmitter.
Press and hold the EVIC button when in this display until
“OFF”, “30 sec.”, “60 sec.”, or “90 sec.” appears to make
your selection.

Hope this helps;
srg

hey it always good to learn some thing new I do think that if you turn off the headlights BEFORE you turn off the car they will go off but if you turn the car off with the lights ON the stay on for awhile Im sure this is not what you are asking but it workks

Yeah! Thanks! It worked, and i also did find it in the manual (couldn't find it before... xP). Pretty fast responses too. The headlights that turn on when you use your key remote is suppose to help you find your car, but i don't need that.

Thanks everyone for your help.
