Default Back Latch Problem

Hi I am new to this site. I have a 2006 Pt Touring and am having problems with the back latch. For some reason the touch pad to open the hatch wont work. In order to open the back hatch I have to use the key wich is a real pain. Does anyone have any answers? We have checked the fuses and they are all ok! Please help!

Welcome to the forum Michele.

A few owners have had back latch problems, some where the key won't even open it but I've never seen a good answer except to take the whole thing apart to see what's wrong or drop it off at the dealer $$$.

Yours might work different since it's a new model but I have to hit the key fob twice to open the trunk.

One last thing. Being an 06, aren't you still under warranty?

Mine quit working, took it to the dealer, repaired and covered under warranty.
