Default HELP! Air Bag Light ON ON ON

Hya anyone..

My air bag light has been coming on, beeping, going off, coming on beeping, etc etc for about 3 months now... drives me crazy!!!

I took it to my garage who did a code read on it... £40 later, not fixed, he said it could cost between £200-900 to get sorted.!! Surely this is no a fault but a faughtly airbag light....??

I don't have £200-900 - does anyone have ANY advice, or past experiance, or know what the problem is?

Its a CRD 04 Pt Cruiser and not still under warrenty :-(

Thanks in advance Chels

I'd lend you my ScanGauge to clear it, but it looks as if you live over the pond!

Take it to the dealer and see what they say. Don't buy into them though. Find the problem, then go to the garage and have them look at it.

Agree with Ron. The airbag codes need to be read with a scanner from the dealer or a mechanic you can trust that has the proper equipment to diagnose which part is faulty.

Hya,

Thanks for advice so far, but I have already had it code read at my local which cost me £40... I did not take it to my dealers, cause it was £20 more expensive. I still don't know where the fault is...... So won't my dealer do the same and charge me again and I still be none the wiser???

Blimey, can I not just change a fuse...

ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

Thank You

Sorry, maybe you can go back to your garage and ask the mechanic exactly what the scanner read. You did pay for it so they shouldn't have a problem telling you what they found, not just that it's gonna cost you $$$$ (Sterling) to fix it.

If they say the "clock spring is bad" (or another part) we hopefully can tell you exactly what it is, where it is, and if he's ripping you off. Maybe tell you how to fix it yourself and save all kinds of quids.

Forgot to say WELCOME to the forum.

The words "Internal Fault" make it sound expensive.

Could it just be a bad sensor....Somewhere inside the module??

Wouldn't this be called a safety issue and be covered under warranty??
