This happened to me when I owned my Talon, it ended up being the after market remote starter. There was a short somewhere, I had to disengage it.
It was freaky, I'd turn my car off and get out then it would start itself up.

Now I have a 2002 PT Cruiser and I have intermittent starting problems.
I have put a new starter and battery in.
It just clicks once when I turn it over that is it.
It could start 5 minutes later or 2 days later, I need help with this one.

Could be your ECU my old Sunbird had a loose ground wire going to the computer, and it would die randomly, and start after a while although, it didn't do that all on it's own. BTW the only reason I watch Knight Rider is for the mustang, I want one!

Do an off on off on off on of the ignition switch and see if a trouble code pops up. I had a simular problem with a camshaft position sensor wacking out. The car would stall at 55 mph pull over it started again becuase the engine was still stumbling firing intermitently. If code 340 pops up it is the sensor. Easy install if you remove the air box. Also just check the wiring going to the sensor to see if it is loose.
