Default Thanks on Error Code-Great info

New to site and was researching what to do when I get indicator light on and only go 40 mph. I found out how to get code, what code was and suggestions to fix. Great information on this site and plan to use more. Code was 340 and realize in safe mode car is stuck in second gear-scared the #*@% out of me and kids when it started lurching. I disconnected battery neg to clear code and so far so good. Even know where sensor is to change if I need to in future. Hopefully that is the cure -was dreading how much the bill was going to be when I bring in for check. Now on to dash light replacements (sounds like a nightmare) and front end squeaks. Again, great info on this forum.

Well code returned after a couple weeks and went ahead and changed sensor. Hope that is the cure. The info on how to change was great-even I (a non mechanic) was able to do. Only hold up was how to unclip-the little orange piece slides out then pry connector plug from sensor.

Welcome to the forum.

The code list has been a useful tool for all of us old timers and new owners alike. Too bad everyone doesn't perform the search to find the code, look it up on the list and then search for answers in the forum, but then that would put a bunch of us "out of business" like a few of the big banks. Hey, maybe we could get bail-out money.

On your question about dash lights. Haven't done it myself (haven't had to) but others have it is a lot of trouble but can be done by a novice. Search for "dash lights" on the forum.

The front end of the cruisers seem to have bad bushings in a lot of them. You'll have to get it up on a rack to find out exactly which ones or replace the whole set.
