Default Automatic transmition wont go foward

when i change from parking to drive position my pt cruiser wont move at all even on reverse after a while it move foward for 5 seconds and then stay like neutral position again, is the first time happend after 82000 miles please help

Our auto tranny went out on our '01 at 81k miles.

How many miles is on the PT? And what year is it?

Was it regularly serviced? Has it ever been flushed and refilled with Chrysler's ATF+4 fluid?

There's a lot of trouble with the "tranny pack" so you might not need to fix or replace the entire unit. You'll have to take it in for diagnosis to find out for sure.

Tranny on our 2002 went out at 45,000+ miles, rebuilt under warranty, cost me $100.00 Good Luck!!!!

My tranny went out at 54000 miles it was covered under the 7 year 70000 mile for 100 dollars it was the clutch and gears

I had just bought the car used it is a 2004 and a week before I had paid to transfer the warrnty an had the car serviced including the transmission flushed and fluid changed by the dealer
