Hi all, just got a 2007 PT used to have a 2002 that was a stick. This one is an automatic with 30k on it and we bought it used.
I just kinda started noticing that when I accelerate at around 20 miles and then around 50 miles an hour I feel a vibration through the gas pedal and the floor boards....not like alot and I am having a hard time determining if its just the different roads or what. We are taking it to have the horn/air bag replaced as the horn sticks and I asked if they could check into the vibration thing. Any ideas?....thanks, Dano |

Welcome to the forum.
If it's coming from the wheels, the vibration occurs with the steering wheel when it's a front wheel problem and your seat and and floor (pedals?) when the problem is towards the rear. An out-of-round tire, unbalanced tire, bent wheel, bent axle could all give the vibration your talking about.

My wife has the same thing on her 07 PCH. She took it back to the dealer, under warrenty, had him test drive it. "There is no vibration on this car." was his determination. She made him have the balance of the front wheels checked and the tires checked. Nothing wrong or out of balance.
I've read recently, somewhere I can't remember, that people were having this problem due to having an unbalanced half-shaft, on the drivers side. The problem was never severe, and either it's gone away, or we just got used to it. All I can say see if there is a TSB out on it with Chrysler. Have them test drive it, and make a big stink if it's really bad. You might get them to do something, you never know.... srg |

Finding a vibration is very hard to do. But to start with check everything CREWZIN has said you may even want to try to switch the tires around. I had a vibration like your and took it to the dealer and they replaced the right front half shaft and that did not fix it so after about 4 weeks and thinking about it I decided to replace the left half shaft myself and that did it the vibration is gone so you may just have to put some money in it to find it alone with the half shafts I replaced the motor mounts on the right side a new set of tires which it needed anyway. good luck but I would look at the halfshafts JMO
