Default OBD-III: "1984" here we come...

http://members.aol.com/carleyware/library/us796obd.htm

Scroll down to "BEYOND OBDII"

Is this for real? Can we get more links/info on this?

BTW: If you have a newer cell phone, you may already have a similar tracking device installed. It's called a GPS chip. It's being marketed as the "enhanced nine one one" lifesaver feature.

Ah, the spinmasters [}]

Anybody else care to comment [:I]

Since the '04 PT isn't really offering significant updates, looks like the '03 is the better buy... in more ways than just price.

Come on people, LET'S HERE YOUR THOUGHTS!!

Nothing new here, they have been watching me for years. That is why I line my baseball caps with aluminum foil, so they can't read my thoughts. I guess I will have to do the same with the interior of my car. Thanks for the info.

Stupid environmentalist wackos!

At least I can turn off that feature on my cell phone....Personally I don't think they'll ever put that into place...it's gotta be unconstitutional, or at least invasion of privacy or something....

my $0.02 worth

The cop pulls you over and says,"Sir, your OBDlll says you used a NOS bottle at Crossover Blvd and Frontage Rd. The Impound wrecker is on its way."

My antique 440s are looking better all the time...and easier to work on.

I paid $1,000 to have this "installed" so I could track my maintainence and watch the kids when they borrow the car.

I guess in Kirby's situation, it was a choice. How did you present this "vehicular enhancement" to your kids and what's their take on it?

They know we have a gps tracker for insurance reasons.
This program called Networkcar tracks my speed and the % of time spent at that speed, all the OBDII data, current mileage, Position(GPS), all services done, my current health, and current winning lotto numbers (PowerBall of course).

Hey guys...what about that congressman who just hit a motorcyclist. He drives a Cadillac, and now the state troopers are going over the "black box" that's installed in his car that will tell how fast he was going and if he applied the brakes and other data. It's not just in airplanes anymore
