Sorry to break the news to ya, it's a PT CRUISER, not a PT Racer. It'll do 15 seconds in a 1/4 mile with a top speed of about 110. It will keep up will 99% of ordinary traffic and most of us get decent gas mileage.
There's nothing short of dropping a few thousand dollars that will make it go any faster. A decent intake, free flow exhaust and a good tune-up are the only things that will help it maintain what it was built for. The Turbo model is a different story, but were not talking about that now. Nice BUG by the way. Had a 69 myself.

Keep in mind power/weight ratio. That bug is right around 2000lbs. The PT is about 3200lbs. The PT has 150hp and a slushbox auto I assume? Your built motor has what? Over 100hp? My brother has a 1600cc dual port in his buggy with about 85-90hp and he had a 1900cc engine in a bus with dual carbs and about 130hp. He'd get looks when he would wheelie. It doesn't take much power to make those light VW's to move.
If you're running around 120-150hp in your Bug, you're in Miata territory. Ben
