Just incase you didn't know, the 41TE used in earlier PT's and the turbo PT's has a reputation for not being too tough. The way the symbols break down for the tranny is that 4 designates number of forward gears, one designates the strength, and TE is the mount style.
I guess Chrysler decided that PT's weren't blowing up enough of the already too weak 41TE's and pulled out some clutch packs I believe, making the new tranny a 40TE, having a strength rating of "0"! Late model PT's have this tranny, that includes yours. I hope your warranty covers bringing the tranny back to the dealer in a bag... The 41TE blows up in normal driving. Neutral bombs on a weaker transmission probably aren't a good idea IMO.![]() Ben

I've done it a few times in mine too, but I have the 5 speed manual. Be careful with yer tranny, because even if its under warranty, it's a pain to get it fixed. Still! Glad there are some other members out there who like having some fun!
