Glad you got it fixed. That high speed part of the fan is probably responsible for 85% of all the overheating problems.

Hi, I have a 03 PT GT with 66k miles and just started doing the surging when AC is on and im at a stop, the tach doesnt move though when it surges. It does it even 1st thing in the morning if I turn AC on after starting. Where is the box that you had the burnt out fuse? I'll check that 1st.

I have this exact same problem at 60K

2001 pt. it surges while your driving - when you have your foot on the break at a stop light and i checked if you put it in neutral and just lit it idle it does it as well. feels like a slipping clutch in drive though really - lunges forward.
it's my mother in laws car - she just got burnt by a mechanic telling her he felt it was a fuel screen he needed to clean. 85 bucks - no results of course.

it does not overheat and the AC works fine though. i don't see anything cracked anywhere.

i am going to go over it with a white led to check for hair line cracks i guess but it really does seem more seriouse than that. i keep thinking it has to be some sensor doing it - it's not a constant thing - very unpredictable really but it doesnt go 5 minutes without a spurt here and there.

felt like the tranny was doing it at first but it being in neutral doing it made me think otherwise.

if anyone has any ideas please let me know - i am going to look and try everything that is posted for this problem here even if i have already done it. She's pretty frantic about her little car - she paid way too much for it and it's her only transportation so this is kind of an emergency. :O)

Thanks.

i believe chrysler should recall their crapy radiator fan and it's assembly !! once the car hit 60k it fails !! and for some people that dont pay attention at certain piont it will cause another costly failure

i guess that's their way of making people sell their cars and buy new ones once it hits 50k mile stone !!

Edit: add to that another constant problem that happens to all owner which is the low pressure switch, they need to either recall or issue a service recomendation to replace it a certain milage if driving in extreme hot weathers !!
