Yet Another Surging/Bucking Cruiser....

My wife's 2003 non-turbo (38,000 miles) developed a surging/bucking at stop lights this summer. Seems worse w/ the AC on. The dealer replaced the ignition wires and it went away for a bit then came back. So yesterday they replaced the plugs (found one bad). It is still bucking and feels like it will stall. The problem seems intermittent - happens w/ the AC on and the AC off, but less frequently w/ the AC off. I drove it the other day and it wanted to leap forward (or so it seemed) while in gear at a stop light and bucked so much I thought it would stall. The car idles around 800-900 RPMs.

I have a migraine searching this forum and there are lots of good suggestions/possibilities but seems no one has cured it.

Is this in any way unsafe and likely to make the car stall?

Thanks in advance for any advice/guidance - just worried with this since she is carrying our little kids in the car.
