Thermostat housing replacement

Hi All:

First post. Bought a super clean, stock '02 Limited with only 44K from the original owner a few months back. Have over 50K on it now, and the only problem is a slow leak from the thermostat housing. Re-torquing it didn't fix the problem, so I'll replace it, along with the thermostat, plugs, and plug wires, while I'm at it.

Question - is there a gasket for the housing, and are there any gaskets on the intake that need to be replaced when I do this? I did the search, and also looked at a service manual, but couldn't find the answer.

There's a rubber gasket. If you go to check it out just drain the coolant a bit with a turkey baster until the coolant level is below the housing. You can reuse the intake manifold gasket. Just be sure to cover the openings on the lower intake manifold to prevent crap from falling in.

Just to be totally clear the rubber gasket is on the thermostat.
