Ignition Switch???

Just bought a 2004 at auction had dead battery put new one in drove about 1/4 mile ran out of gas put in a couple gallons of gas primed a couple times it started and stalled twice the third time I turned the key and had nothing. all the lights radio etc work but nothing at the starter. With the key in the on postion we ran a heavy wire from the positive to the igniton wire on the starter it will turn the starter over that way but it will not start.
we did change around the starter relay switch.
Could this be the ignition switch?

P0513 invalid skim key

Anyone know what that means?

My '05 Cruiser gave me a P0513 this morning. I found this definition on the web. The article was written for a Dodge Dakota, but as the definition is the same and I don't think Chrysler would bother creating individual error codes for different cars, I assume it should be a similar problem:

P0513 - Invalid SKIM Key Detected

Trouble Code Conditions:Key on, and the PCM detected an invalid Sentry Key Immobilizer key had been inserted into the ignition key assembly.

Possible Causes:

Incorrect VIN in the PCM
No communication between the PCM and the SKIM
SKIM trouble codes present (check for any SKIM codes)
Valid SKIM key not present
VIN not programmed into the PCM
PCM has failed

My key works fine. A few years ago I lost the spare key and had one made at the local harware store, only to find out these regular keys won't work in the PT crusier. Gotta buy them from the dealer. D-oh!!!!Maybe that's what it was?

Am I missing something? Could we ever get many codes at a time? Or will my car only give me a second code once I fix this first one (which would be kind of stupid...)?
