I have a question about replacement of the drive belt. I have 04 touring edition 2.4 lt turbo with 100,000 kms on it. Is it time to have it replaced? It's not a do it yourself job and sounds expensive. What is a good replacement belt? Thanks for your time.

There's two drive belts. The serpentine belt and the alternator belt. But the real question is when are you going to change the timing belt? It's due NOW at 100,000 and it IS expensive. Not the price of the belt but the labor involved in changing it. The advice we are giving everyone is to search around for a trusted mechanic and let him do the timing belt. At the same time, the water pump and drive belts should also be changed, also the drive belt tensioner.
The bad part is that the whole thing will cost anywhere from $900 - $1200. More if you take it to a dealer.
