With repairing the fan/housing on mine (2001) the hardest thing was removing the horizontal brace across the front, about half way down. There's two bolts on either side that are almost impossible to reach. I had just gotten a new set a wrenches with built in ratchets on the end and they really came in handy.

You don't say what year your working on but it's an older model, take your time taking off the front grill as it has small plastic catches that can easily break.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to take off the upper manifold also, it you do and it's anywhere near the time for new plugs and wires, you might as well do them too.

I had to take the front grill off to move the brace so the radiator would move forward to be able to lift up and out the fan housing. You won't be able to remove the radiator (I don't think) without taking off the fan housing. I could be wrong and just maybe you can lift the radiator and housing up all in one piece, but I don't think so. I think you'll have to come forward a bit to clear the manifold.

Mine when I put a new fan housing in.
