Default Electrical Probs

Another chapter in my car...

my driver side brake lights went out before and I had the wires replaced.

Now, again, the driver's side lower brake light is out when the brake is being pressed, also the left blinker blinks fast when the brake is being pressed, but regular speed when the brake is not being pressed.

Also my rear defroster isn't working and my reverse lights do not come on.

I called Chrysler yesterday to initiate a buy back for this car. I have no idea how it will all go, but I'm totally fed up with this car.

I read back through some of your posts and I can see why you are asking about a buy-back and calling it a lemon but I also see where your dealer has tried to make everything right and even doing work after your warranty ran out for only a deductible. I don't think your going to get very far. They might offer to buy it back as if you were trading it in but you won't get much for it. Your new electrical problems are a real mystery and sure sounds like the electronics are really messed up. I've heard of things like that happening to cars that were sold after being flooded out and the new owner starts to have things go wrong after a year or so.

How about your mechanic friend that works on PT's, can he help you out again?

Hi Crewzin

thanks for the response.

Chrysler only covered the rack and pinion for the deductible and the dealership covered my AC repair because they forgot to fix it when that's what I took it in for *doh* and they scratched and dented my car. So they were forced to make nice with me.

So yeah, everything else I have paid for out of pocket.

Chrylser told me it will take 4 business days for the buy back department to call me back. Who knows what they will say. I'm going to wait before I take it to my mechanic for the electrical problems to see what Chrysler will do.

You mentioned something about flooding, I am the original owner. I bought it with 3 miles on it.

I'm just so bummed because I've taken great care of it inside and out.

My mom bought a base model PT a week after I bought mine, back in 2005, and she hasn't had ONE problem. That kills me!!!!!
