Default Need help please

Hi everyone, I could use a little help on a couple of things related to my 03 PT.

First, where can I locate the proportional puge control solenoid? I'm getting a 0441 code, and believe this is the problem.

Next, what is the best way to access the oil pressure sending unit? I've located it, but am having a heck of a time trying to disconnect it it the process of changing it. Maybe it's better left to a shop?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Mike,

First, almost everyone that receives this code turns out to be the gas cap. If there's something wrong with the cap itself, it will have to be replaced but usually if your turn the cap making sure it clicks shut at least 3 full turns, the light should go off itself in a couple days. Try that before going out and buying your "proportional puge control solenoid".

Not sure which size wrench you need but that's all that should be needed to unscrew the oil pressure sending unit.

Thanks for the reply

I tried the gas cap, replaced it with a new one. That did help for a short while, but the light came back. My mechanic said the solenoid needed changing, and that it was under the hood on the passenger side, but I can't seem to find it.

You need a special deep socket for the oil sending unit. It's a piece of cake on a lift and a PITA on jack stands.

Thanks MG.

Mike,

According to my manual, the Proportional Purge Solenoid is at the bottom the car. See below.....
