Default Performance chips

I have a 2008 PT cruiser LX
and was wondering are the performance chips worth it?

Nope!!!! Sorry they do not help that much, if you had a turbo you could go with Stage 1 from Dealer.

Waste of money and not worth it.

I don't think "abhik382" was actually saying "where I Will get" as a question. If you click on the word "engine" in his signature, it takes you to a web site that is selling computer chips for all cars including the PT Cruiser. The place is located just south of me (about 150 miles) but I have no idea exactly where, just that the area code for the "contact us" is in Florida.

Anyway, if you click on the "chip" that they have for the 01-08 PT Cruiser, it makes all kinds of promises of about 50 hp and up to 100 hp if you buy their other little tid bits to along with their "chip". What bothers me is the picture of the "chip" is just that...a CHIP, like the one in my Corvette, but the computer in the PT doesn't have a place to put a computer chip (like my Vette) so how would you install it. They say it takes just a couple minutes and a few simple tools so I guess they want yo to break open the computer to install it.

Not me, anyone want to give it a try, besides, remember the old saying, "if it sounds to good to be true ........

Only $69 and a money back guarantee.

P.S. One more thing. I clicked on all the right buttons to see about a "chip" for my wife's new KIA. Sure enough, it has the EXACT same page with all the EXACT same things for the KIA that it did for the PT Cruiser. Same price, same chip, same everything.

Oh my, I saw the web site. The claims are outrageous. 20-25 hp for an intake! Ionizer! The unknowing are going to buy that stuff and be greatly disappointed.

The only chip that was good that I know of is Kenne Belle - they basically adjust timing to make use of premium fuel, and is particulary good for Autos, becaus they reprogram the auto shifts, too.
Whether the cost is worth it is a personal decision.
Most of the others are as good as putting on a decal.
