heck, you could actually even be low on fluid in your tranny..
i was at one point (after pushing it so hard on snowy hill that the tranny actually "locked" the traction control... the traction control light came on, and would not go off, and no limited slipping...i locked the tranny..then it just.. "popped back to normal, a day later, when i was taking ti to get looked at...so i flushed it then and there..but it was about a quart low...because i am an idiot) anyway, it was a quart low, and "slipping" the engine would rev, but the car would not accelerate like it should...i warmed it up and checked the fluid, and yep, low. i filled it up, and got the pep back. another way to get a little more pep (if you do not need them) is put the rear seats in your garage/house. they say that every 100lbs is a tenth of a second in the quarter mile... |

Most rear wheel drive cars have the transmission in front, a drive shaft and then a differential in the rear. My corvette is an exception to the RWD rule. The transmission and differential are bolted together at the rear. |

That was a great idea on the C5's (putting the trans and diff together in the rear) as it splits the weight 50/50 with the power plant in front. Mine (C4) has the power and trans in front and I use to put concrete cinder blocks in the rear area in the winter time when I lived in Maryland to put more weight over the rear axle for snowy days. It was my daily driver so it saw every kind of weather.
