Actually, there's quite of few that say the K&N doesn't filter all that well, that the HP gain (if any) is due to the fact that the K&N lets more air thru thereby letting more microscopic particals thru but, I still have it on all my cars.

I did see the test in a magazine on aircleaners, saw the K&N filter and aircleaner(for v8's etc...)didn't do anything for power. But running them on baja bugs, mounted in the open, dirt, mud, moisture...the inside of the filter was always clean as a whistle. I wonder if the amount of particles was more than a stock paper filter? Maybe we all ought to go back to the old oil bath filters....

and this one popped up. Was orig in SC but the dealer sold it in ST Pete. So Happy Me![]() In reference to the air filter most car guys I talk to all say K&N. I don't know about gas mileage, torque, etc...just have to try it and see. I know k&n makes a prefilter for real dusty areas just happens to come in bright yellow Don't think I would need on a daily basis though.I'll have some pics soon. Only had the PT a week so she doesn't even have a name yet...

Plan on having the auto flushed when you get about 50,000 miles - and be sure they refill with ATF + 4.
I'd also go synthetic oil - well worth the extra cost. Keep your eyes peeled on this and other PT forums for used air intakes - folks go back to stock when they sell - the filter can be cleaned and re-oiled and would be cheaper than a new one.

you know one thing i noticed when i changed my spark plugs, wires and drop in filter is that there is a 2 by 1 1/2 breather sponge that everyone tells me doesnt belong there. but i pop my hood and show them that it has its own slot right under the air every auto store tells me the pt only has the one the drop in and cabin filter no breather! whats the deal? they tell me the 02 cruiser isnt supposed to have a breather

Where is it located? In the Air Box, up by the cowl, passengers side?

My 2006 PT cruiser is overheating and the check engine light is on. The only thing the scanner said it was missed cylinders in all cylinders. The light for overheating goes on and off. Any suggestions ?
