Default Lower engine mount

Hi Everybody

I need some advice on replacing the upper and lower engine mounts. Is there a certain sequence to follow? I don't want to disturb anything I don't have to. I have a 2001, with 76K on it. I appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks, Ed

Be sure to support the engine with a jack with a piece of wood between the jack and the engine so as not to damage anything. The jack will keep the engine from moving around and causing you to have to realign it. Do the motor mounts one at a time. Do the top one first. If you haven't purchased the mounts yet don't use the stock ones. They are too flimsy. You can use the upper and lower mounts for the Neon SRT-4 as they are a lot stronger and are interchangeable with the PT.

Thanks Mean Grean,

Unfortunately I've purchased the mounts already. From what I'm hearing, this is a sore spot on the PT. So when they go again, I will take your advice and get the Neon SRT-4 mounts.

Thanks Again,Ed

Hi,
My 2001 PT Cruz with only 31 K has damaged engine mounts too. (The roads here are a nightmare)
What year Neon SR-4 mounts would fit a 2001 Cruiser?
Many thanks

Thanks very much for your help Mean Green.
One more tip please, my Check Engine warning light has been on for
some time but I was ignoring it with fingers crossed (There is only one
Chrysler dealership here and very incovenient to work with)
and I just checked for the codes myself using the turn the ignition on three times pointer learned here.

I got four readings:

P 1684
P 0601
P 1490
P 1495

Are these something to worry about?
