I was cleaning up the engine compartment yesterday and doing a full detail. Took off the air cleaner and in order to do that I had to take off a vacuum line and air temp sensor out of the intake. I bent the very small, very fragile little tip off the air sensor and when I bent it back it halfway broke but not all the way. After cleaning I carefully put it all back together and as soon as I started it up, the dreaded engine light came on so I knew I'd need a new sensor. $29 later I had a new one in my hands. The PT wasn't running bad but the light stayed on.
So I took the air cleaner off and found out the tip had broken clean off, swallowed up and through the throttle body into the engine. I put the new sensor on, took the negative battery cable off for 5 minutes (never lost the pre-set radio stations) and took it for a ride. The engine light is off and it's running fine. No ill effects from swallowing the little blue sensor tip. In fact if anything, it's running really good. Took it up to triple digits just for a minute (old airport road - no traffic) and it ran really good. Got a break that time.

Lucky guy. You won't lose the preset radio stations unless you step on the brakes while the negative cable is off.

There's a speed governor on the PT (at least on mine) that stops me at around 110. I've felt it come on and it stops you in your tracks until you go below the set speed.

Crusierdad76. Yes, your probably right.
MG if your still there. I did keep the pre-set stations as you mentioned but my clock was three hours off ??? Only had the negative cable off for about 5 minutes.
