OK here is the start to the end and everything in between
Like Thursday I drove about 15 mile to my sisters house turned the car off and went inside and visited when i decided to leave the car would not try to crank over to start. All light and radio worked fine. before I didn't notice anything that could be wrong. * SO we charged battery and got nothing we took the starter off and had it rebuilt on Friday got it back and put it on. Got nothing it was all the same made sure all wires were intact. Still nothing We boosted it off and it idled for like 15 or so minutes drove about 8 miles down the road and after about 5 miles the batter charge light came on then a few miles on down it made a loud squalling/ squeaking/screaming noise adn it did it for about a half mile and then stopped. Drove on home and it was quiet as can be and fine then i turned the car off and it wouldnt start back so.............. Then we got the altenator checked out and it was fine put in a new batter and still nothing! So now we don't knwo what is happening or what it could be we have had no problems Any ideas would help out alot. ![]() ![]() ![]() :conf used:

Sound like a pulley someplace was binding and possibly even frozen. If it wasn't your alternator's pulley, I would suspect it was probably the air conditioner's compress pulley. However to be honest, I've not paid that much attention to what belt drives what pulleys. Also, are you sure the belt driving the alternator is tensioned correctly? A belt that seems tight enough might still be loose enough to slip and not drive the alternator quick enough to keep the battery fully charged. But I'm betting your air compressor pulley is frozen or very tight and not letting the alternator spin at the correct speed.

We were told later today that it could be timing belt, then the pulleys, then one guy said if you can turn the motor by hand its the fuse...one is blown....Sure enough the ignition fuse is blown! So we put a new one in and it blew also....then we checked the wiring on the starter to see if it was grounded some where! Then added a new fuse and it blew too! so its prolly grounded but not sure where didn't find any naked spots or bun spots on the wire. So we are still puzzled!

So yeah we pretty much know that there has to be a ground somewhere for it to blow through the fuses. Now waer aren't any mechanics but don't wanna pay 80.00 and hour even tho we should we just don't have that kind of money!
So do you think it could be a wire in the drivers column? I wonder what caused it in the 1st place? we hav't had any problems or noises?
