Timing Belt 2001 Limited 2.4L
Lost a timing belt while driving on the freeway. What have others experienced regarding piston or valve damage on the 2.4L when loosing the timing belt?
I have the experience to replace the belt, etc. Just need some guidance. How can you tell if there is piston or valve damage? Thanks, Charlie PT

Only 2 ways:
1 - do the belt, then do a compression test. 2 - take off the head and look. The pistons should be okay, but the valves can collide.

Have you had the head off of a 2.4L? If so are there any tricks that you could share? Thanks, CharliePT
