Default New performance muffler questions

So i am trying to get a new performance muffler to make my car sound better and hopefully do something to performance, but i can figure out what inlet size it is. I'm pretty sure i need a 2.5 inch inlet but does anyone know the actual diameter of the exhaust pipe?

the muffler i am thinking of getting is this one...AutoZone.com | 18 in. Length x 2 1/2 in. Single Center Inlet and Outlet Red Hots Slip Fit Muffler | 18 in. Length x 2 1/2 in. 2.25" exhaust is fine for quite a bit of power. If you have a GT I'd consider doing something but N/A no way. You need to have a lot of work done before you need anything further than stock.

Bottom line is you'll feel no more power with a different muffler. I've been that route and bobdole369 is correct about getting any more power out of a na PT.

Yah, its an 02 non turbo. I ordered a flowtech red hot glass pack thing. I don't really care if it doesn't increase performance, i just want to do something to my car. but i have another question... where should i put this new muffler, should i just put it were the old muffler is or should i put it infront of all of that twisted pipe so that it is straight pipe fed. would this make it too loud on the inside of the care because it would be right behind the driver seat? and would that lead to some leakage of the exhaust fumes into the cab?

I'd replace the stock muffler.
