Default HELP! Just got oil changed--now oil light keeps coming on!

I have a 2004 PT Cruiser (manual transmission) I just got my oil changed yesterday and now my oil light keeps going on?

When I drive over 40 MPH and then press on my break (such as to slow down for a stop light or stop sign), the oil light beeps and goes on. After the stop, When I put my foot back on the gas, the oil light goes back off.

Took the car back to the mechanic today, he drained the oil (thinking he overfilled it) and put the exact amount in and said it should work now. Of course, within 5 minutes the oil light went on and beeped again. I called and he said he has no idea why this is happening! (no oil is leaking anywhere).

I don't want to take it back to him if he has no idea what to do to resolve, the problem, but I don't want my engine to seize either---any suggestions?
(I am a single mom and have VERY little car knowledge)--I just get my tune ups, oil changes, rotations, etc, when I should.

my pt was doing the same thing for a while.... i just checked my oil and if it was full i drove it and it eventually went off.... i think that i read on here that the oil sending unit had some issues.. if u really dont feel safe with it like that i would take it to the dealership. it might cost a lil bit more now but save alot of worries hope that helped have u personally checked your oil?

Welcome.
Have the mechanic replace the oil sending unit - it's a sensor and not expensive.
I suspect it has nothing to with going and stopping - you can put it in park and rev the engine and I'll bet the light goes out as the tachometer goes up.
