Default Cleaning Airaid Filter

A couple months ago I purchased a used Airaid Cold Air Intake from a member of this forum. He told me it had been cleaned not to long before I purchased it and since it was in the middle winter here in Indiana at the time, I didn't really want to try to clean it then.

Now that it is starting to get warmer (don't think too locally many would say that tonight or for the next few days as we are supposed to have hard freeze tonight and be below normal through the middle of the week). Anyway, now that is starting to get warmer, I'd like to clean it so that I know for sure it's good for another year. I suspect that I can find K&N cleaning kits in various auto parts stores as many are selling K&N filters. Is their any negative reasons not to use a K&N cleaning kit on an Airaid filter?
