Default 2006 Foul Smell

We just bought a 2006 Cruiser Touring 55K miles this weekend, all seemed well. This afternoon it seemed like a burned rubber/plastic smell came through. it was faint, it would come and go but it is our car. I am disabled so I can not just climb under the car and want an idea before taking it somewhere. Of course it does have a 3 month 3600 mile warranty Powertrain only though... any advice would be great.

Welcome to the Forum, dtk40242. How about filling out your info so we can see where you are located.

Your best bet is to take it back where you got it, they posssibly cannot fix it, but at least you have it on record that it is a problem. By your post I have to assume that you bought it at a dealer.

"Hopefully" it's just something the seller did to make the car sell-able like change part of the exhaust or seal something up. New cars sometimes have a smell like that at first because of gasket material, exhaust sealer or undercoating excess that is being burned off the first few times it's taken out on the road.

I agree with Hooligan; take it back and have it documented about the smell, just in case.

It seems that they think the previous owner did not use the ac and it had old water in it that needed to be burned off, said it would have went away within a few more uses but used something called "refridge refresh" I think and sprayed that in the I guess inflow by the windshield. I'm new to the site, I'll look to put my info in.
