Default another drive train vibration episode - 2007 PT Touring Edition

We have a non turbo automatic 2007 PT with 31,000 miles on the clock.
We have a vibration under light acceleration in second gear from 2000-2500 rpm.
Shift points seem fine and it doesn't vibrate (more like mild pulsing actually) in any other gear or RPM range.
The dealer has updated the control module firmware and has replaced two motor mounts they said looked worn.
At this point the pulsing sensation still exists but - still only between 2000-2500 RPM and only in second gear.
The dealer has been very friendly and seems to be genuinely interested in resolving the issue.
Any ideas ?

Thanks all

If you've had it since new, and know the history, has the plugs and wires been changed? The stock set-up from the factory for plugs and wires are crap and need replacing as soon as any ruff idle, hesitation, vibration and breaking up under acceleration is noticed.

The only other thing to check is your balance and alignment.

More than likely it's the cv axles. See if they will replace them. I work on Chryslers for a living and this is a fairly common problem.... New axles should fix the condition but I have had them make it worse! Kind of a crap shoot.
