msd warranty as per their site:
MSD Ignition is a company built on Customer Satisfaction and Service. That is why all of our products go through regimented test procedures before they are ever packaged and shipped. MSD stands behind our products for one full year after purchase and we have an excellent repair department. Terms of Warranty and Service are as follows:

Limited Warranty

Autotronic Controls Corporation warrants MSD Ignition products to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and if properly installed for a period of one year from date of purchase. If found to be defective as mentioned above, it will be replaced or repaired if returned prepaid along with proof of date of purchase. This shall constitute the sole remedy of the purchaser and the sole liability of Autotronic Controls Corporation to the extent permitted by law, the foregoing is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties or representations whether expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness. In no event shall Autotronic Controls Corporation be liable for special or consequential damages. This warranty is only valid on products purchased from MSD Authorized Dealers.

The deed is done. I went with the Magstar 8.5/mm Pro 100 "Super Inductive Race Wire" because these are the best wires I could get locally (Advance overnight, $40.99 set). NAPA, Carquest and Autozone had nothing available except 7/mm oem type wires, nothing heavy duty. And apparently, they don't give diddley-squat about having other choices available (talking wires here).

Anway, these Magstars are fine IMHO, and are probably overkill since we drive this PT normally (no hard driving). As stated before, it's my wife's car ('04 LE), and she babies the thing. It has 42k+ miles on it, and was about 10k overdue for plugs and wires.

The procedure was quite easy, mostly due to this site (thanks!). The sparkplug thread/sticky was very helpful. I was getting conflicting info regarding anti-seize, so I didn't use it. I've installed hundreds of plugs in the past 37 years, and never used any. Used plenty of dielectric grease though! Car sounds/runs like new again.

Here's a pic of the Magstar wires (and one original), and a shot of the engine. I'll get a few of the car up later. Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions!

The reason for the anti-seize is because the plugs are metal and the head is aluminum and the two can become welded together, mostly over a long period of time and you'll have a heck of a time getting the plugs out next time. Anti-seize prevents that.

A couple threads to read:

Like I said, I'm getting conflicting info about the anti-seize. I've read that the Champion plugs don't need it (factory coated?), so I didn't want to use it if it wasn't absolutely necessary. It's not a big deal if I need to go back and add some, as I can do that in less than 30 minutes. Does Chrysler use anti-seize with the original plugs?

Someone else once asked the same question about Chrysler and nobody was ever able to confirm or deny it, so...we don't know. you'd have to go to the source of where the engine is put together.

even if they are factory coated a little more don't hurt!!! Seriously re threading a head is a lot more that $2.00 for antisieze.
