Look. I'm really happy all you guys think your raising the MPG you get with your cruiser with what you believe is a miracle device.

Has anyone heard of the CAFE standards that all the vehicle manufacturers are clambering to achieve? If it was that easy to throw in a hunk of metal with a hole it in (that whistles) to better the overall MPG of the fleet, don't you think the manufactures would have jumped on it.

They are just about to implement the toughest CAFE standards that's ever been established which will put an end (or a drastic slowdown) to a lot of the big V8 performance cars that we know and love.

Anything that would boost the CAFE measurements by a couple miles to the gallon would be a life saver to the industry.

Crewzin:

We heard you the first time. No need to constantly interject. We got your point of view from your first post.

Sorry you feel that way. It's called a conversation. One person speaks, then another with their point of view. If others chime in with opposing views, I might come back again. I believe I bring up more information or more view points each time.

So is it safe to assume 20 mpg city and 23 mpg highway is the norm for the PT? I've only had mine 3 months and this is my only real complaint about the car, be it a minor one.

Funny thing about me evidently, I never purchased mine thinking it was going to give me great gas mileage. I brought it because I loved the body style and wanted one from the first day I heard they would be sold here in the USA.

I'm with Crewzin on the gas mileage subject. I just don't know how you can tell a a 2 mpg difference One tank full I'll show getting 17mpg and a couple later it will be 23mbg and next time it will be 19. It all depends on how many highway miles vs city miles I drive, how much I put my foot into it when taking off.

I brought an Airaid Cold Air Intake. I've read from some that it gives better performance off the line. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. I'm not going to argue the point as I don't really care. I like the look when I raise the hood. I like the deep roar when I put my foot into it, even at highway speeds.

I brought mine to have fun, nothing more, nothing less!

Crewzin:

I understand the concept of conversation. And I understand your point of view, it's just that the way you present yourself makes it sound like you're talking down to us. I respect your opinion but I think the delivery could be a bit friendlier. That's all.

Also, I uploaded a video of my Cruiser's breathing and farting.

I'm with ya... I rented an '06 a couple years ago while on vacation and loved it... when I finally decided to get rid of my Camaro with 180k miles I went looking for a PT and found one.

The gas mileage issue doesn't really bother me, I just expected more than 20/23 mpg out of a 4 cylinder.

I think our PT averages 23 city/28+ hwy, or around 25-26 mpg combined. That's with my wife's driving habits, I could probably squeeze out a mile or two more if I drove the car regularly. To those of you getting 20city/23hwy, here's something for you to wrap your heads around: I have a 1979 Cadillac Coupe Deville with a 425 that gets 18-19 city, and around 23 hwy. More than likely, you guys are not driving with a light foot.

HeavyMetalFL,

Gotcha, point taken. Guess I get too fired up personally when I hear about the spacer. Taken a pill ...relaxin.

Off to the beach...
