Default Possible Ignition Problem

Hi my PTC will not turn over with the key in the barrel. I have taken off the plastic surround around the steering wheel and removed the indicator stalks. This has enabled my to remove the ignition switch. i can see the bar that turns when the key is turned. I can turn the car over with a screwdriver no problem, it seems when i use the key it will not turn enough to start the car, do you think i need a new ignition barrel? are they prone to wearing out? as i said its not a electrical fault because the car starts when i manual turn the ignition swtich

You will need to replace the ignition lock cylinder.
