Advanced Auto & Rock Auto list #7570 Double Plat as the correct plug for a PT. The 7440 Double Plat still exists which some people on the forum say is the correct plug. Who's right? Proper gap..040 or ...050? 31K on car I heard the OEM wires are junk should I replace them...car runs fine.

7570 is the new number but 7440 will still work just fine (I have them on mine). The new gap is .040in and yes, change the wires and don"t use OEM wires. Almost anything you can pick up is better. Use Dielectric Grease on the wires ends and a small amount of Anyi-seize on the threads of the plugs.
