Default Champion plugs

I've been "lurking" for some time and thought I would finally post something. I recently changed the plugs in my wifes 03 dream cruiser (turbo). Everyone had what looked to be blow-by around the insulators. Mileage is 30k. This served to reinforce my opion that Champion plugs are in the same quality class as Fram oil filters. Neither brand will be used in my vehicles. I'm a former auto mechanic and shop foreman in a repair any brand shop.
I wasn't aware that platinum plugs were not recommended for the turbo motors so the ones I installed (NGK) won't stay in there long. I'll probably replace them with Irridiums. I installed a set (16) in my Hemi pickup and was very pleased with the improved mileage and SOTP power increase. You think doing 4 plugs in a NA PT is bad, try 16. I really have appreciated the info I've gotten from this forum. Thanks I'll continue "lurking".

So, doesn't finding out that you used the Platinum plugs that weren't recommended for the turbo PT change your mind about calling Champion plugs bad ????

All of us with the non-turbo have been having great success with the Champion plugs. Mine have been in for 60,000 miles and it still starts the first time and runs great.

Irridium plugs are overpriced and not needed. I used stock Copper Plus plugs in my modified 280 hp '03 PT GT and use them in my modified 350 hp '05 SRT-4 with great results and for around $6 every 30k miles you can't beat it. I've never seen more power and higher mpg come from a spark plug other than what the vehicle was designed for.
