BUMPING DOES NO GOOD WHEN YOU HAVE THE ONLY POST. When there's a few posts after yours of a different subject then bumping brings it to the top of the list of threads. When there's no other posts, all bumping does is add to your own post. It's still flagged as a new post to everyone that comes to the forum without the bumping.
P2074-Manifold Pressure/Throttle Position Correlation - High Flow/Vacuum Leak Possible causes: Vacuum Leak High Resistance in Map (K7) 5 Volt Supply Circuit Resistance to Ground In Map (K7) 5 Volt Supply Circuit MAP Sensor High Resistance in (K1) Map Signal Circuit Resistance to Ground in (K1) Map Signal Circuit High Resistance in (K4) Map Ground Circuit TP Sensor Operation High Resistance in (K7) TP Sensor 5 Volt Supply Circuit Resistance to Ground In (K7) TP Sensor 5 Volt Supply Circuit TP Sensor High Resistance in (K22) TP Signal Circuit Resistance to Ground in (K22) TP Sensor Signal Circuit High Resistance in TP (K4) Sensor Ground Circuit PCM As you can see there are a number of possible issues which can cause this DTC. You may be able to visually check a few things (vacuum) on your own however the majority of tests require the use of a DRB III scan tool, diagnostic manual and other test equipment. Based upon your description I would lean towards a vacuum related issue. 1. Inspect the Intake Manifold for leaks and cracks. 2. Inspect the Power Brake Booster for any vacuum leaks. 3. Inspect the PCV system for proper operation or any vacuum leaks. Last edited by CREWZIN; 09 Jun 2009 at 07:40 pm. |

When somebody has worked on it, like me for instance, vacuum hose may be left off or loose. I left off the two hoses on the passenger side closest to the firewall. One is the brake booster.
A severely cracked or loose hose might be affected by vibration like a bump in the road or backfire. Assuming nobody has been working on it I would suspect a vacuum hose problem. The above is the only P2074 I ever saw without other codes. Quote:

This thread is approximately 7 years old!
If I was to answer 7 years ago I would have suggested resetting the DTC's with an OBDII Scan Tool and see if the code came back.
