Need help.. I think my brakes are bad?

When I bought the PT, the previous owner told me it's gonna need brakes soon. Well, I forgot all about that until a few weeks ago I noticed how bad the brakes are starting to squeal.

So my quesition is, what needs to be replaced? Just pads all the way around? Or rotors and drums too? I'm going w/ aftermarket pads, but I'd rather not haave to pick up rotors and drums now.

Also, whats a good aftermarket company for the drum shoes?

Nobody can tell you what your going to need without an inspection of the pads, shoes, rotors and drums.

Your going to have to take in in for a free inspection someplace and let them tell you what you need. You don't have to buy anything. Look for a place that does free inspections.

Damn.. I'm scroungy as heck and the people around this Army town are ALWAYS trying to make a dime. Nearly nothing is "free" around here.

Are you in the ARMY or have friends that can use the lift and tools at their shop? Know anyone that's into cars and can help you diagnose what's needed?

But good thinking.. I do in-fact have friends that know this stuff, and they are actually going to be helping me work on another car.. so I think I'm gonna have them take a look at my car and see what they think.

At 89K miles, chances are high you need rotors as well as pads.

Damn. Thats poopy. I'm not gonna complain though, new rotors and ceramic pads would probably really wake this braking system up!
