Question TSB my bill to pay after warranty...PCM flashed

Cruising along in my '06 base PT and the check engine light comes on then she starts bucking! Pulled over checked the fluids and connectios and all is well. I restart her, CEL is still lit and drive 50 feet when she starts bucking again. I call Chrysler and get her towed to a Chrysler Dealership. (1 hour tow wait) I thought it was the tranny gone bad....service rep. said it was the Champ. dbl. plat. plugs I put in....verdict......tsb for pcm to be flashed had to be performed. Warranty covered the bill. But the question which I forgot to ask was if my warranty had ran out would a TSB repair have cost me money because it is not a recall???

Thx, 66CUDA

The TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin for the maintenance of item to be fixed by the mechanics. Not covered by the warranty it only advises the mechanics the newest/easiest/best way to fix/correct something that was found to be at fault but not on a recall.

Like the TSB to gap the plugs at .040in vice what they originally had at .050in. They found that the smaller gap was better for idle and other problems.
