I tell ya, it's like someone flipped a switch and we're having multiple sender failures...
Anyway, my wive has an '04 and the AC stopped working. I did a search and followed the appropriate trouble shooting and it looks like the switch that is on top of the accumulater/drier/whatever it is right at the firewall is to blame. (I still need to get a helper to confirm the cold blowing AC since I couldn't get my jumper to stay in but from what I can tell it was still blowing nice and cold ans I ran back and forth between under the hood and in the car. But I'm assuming my confirmation will hold true.) But I digress...From what I read, the switch is a very easy replacement but I'm wondering if I'll be venting any freon when I remove it. I didn't see any warnings about it but maybe I missed them so I ask... will I receive a face full of freon when I remove that switch? Thanks! BB.

I'm not saying that's your problem but as far as the switch goes, you shouldn't loose any freon replacing the switch on top of the accumulator. Just watch out for the "O" ring at the bottom of the switch. Don't squash it when you replace the switch.

I was originally going to wait until Monday to get the part since I work about a half-mile from a Chrysler dealer, but my errands today had me pretty close to it so I figured I'd stop by. I had to call home anyway because it turns out that there are three different parts for the '04, based on the VIN, so I needed to get that.
But yeah, I'm happy. Remember, I'm married. When the Missus is happy, I'm happy... ![]() BB.
