Default Welcome to Name that Noise

Where the loser wins a trip to the mechanic

Ok, when accelerating from a stop, I hear a noise that sounds like air escaping from hose. The sound only lasts for a second and then does it again and as the car shifts into second, lasting only a second once again.

It is an intermittent sound as it does not happen every time. I have checked all the tires and hoses and found nothing suspicious.

Could this be a Vac hose?

Nope. Your from Texas right. Probably a rattler crawled up into the engine overnight, got wrapped around the serpentine belt and is crying out for help.

You started it!

Bob was saying the noise might be a "turbo leak" not asking if it was a turbo.

Check that one off, it's definitely NOT a Turbo leak.

I'd be looking at vacuum lines personally.
