HAS ANYONE TRIED THIS
Quote:
thanks for the info on that. I wonder, can you jury-rig the switch and just short out the 2 terminals in the plug and tell the PCM to keep the AC compressor on? (until Chrysler gets this part). We are sweltering in our PT Cruiser, (which is still under warrenty and is not able to be fixed). sucks to be me I know.

does this work???

do you mean connect the wires together at the switch??----bypass the switch??

And what's up with the bankruptcy and parts not being available?

The Switch is Located on the Block Expansion Valve @ the Firewall.
The MT1191 is the Low Pressure - Cycling Switch for the 2007-2001 PT Cruiser

We are currently out of Stock again. Our next shipment is due 08/13/09

Now - I know everybody loves an exact replacement - but - you can use a GM Switch & Pigtail that will work
Ask for Part Number MT0205 Switch & MT0135 Wire Harness. The Switch has the same M12-1.5 Thread & PSI = 44 on / 24 off

you can e-mail me @ joe.fewell@santech.com if you have any questions

found the switch in vegas,(Campbell dealership) in a mopar bag but the guy told me it is the after market switch seen in this thread

10 second to install the switch

a/c fixed

ps
went all the way to vegas (4 hrs) in 105 deg heat with the connector jumped with a paper clip and cycled the pump from inside the car by turning on and off the air every so often with no ill effects

Wow, I feel you on the heat issue. I found it at AutoZone, I paid more for it but I needed it. Here in South Texas it has been 100 + for I don't kow how long and with a heat index of 114 and above that part is a must have. I found a place online that has these parts for $15.41... @ parts.com. So if any body is still looking for the parts try them or Autozone just know that you will pay alittle more at autozone, I think it is worth it

Can anyone tell if the refrigerant has to be drained to replace this part?
