Default Rough Idle

MY 05 PT non turbo is idling very roughly especially with the AC on, I have heard this is a common problem with PT's does anyone know of a solution.

My buddy who went to UTI asked one of his instructors about this for me one time and he said that it could be the compressor failing...
Does it idle normal then sound like it is about to stall?

A few questions before you go blaming the compressor. What is your mileage? When was the last time you PT had new plugs and wires? It is overheating at all?

Check PCV valve, and hose for cracking, leaking, etc.

Started up my PT yesterday with the PCV hose disconnected and almost shit a brick.. then I realized my mistake.

But regardless, it's better to check the easy, simple fixes before you go blaming your A/C compressor..

I know little to nothing about cars, Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'd rather learn than act like I know

Luckily, I learned about it about a month ago:

I'd bet my next paycheck (if I got one) that if you changed the wires your problems would disappear. Take my word for it, the stock wires are crap. I'm surprised it went that far before you had problems or maybe you've been putting up with the rough idle for quite awhile.

He's alluding to your spark plug wires. There's a sticky at the top of this forum that gives you a step-by-step guide to changing out your spark plugs and wires.
