Default Quick Ways to Boost Performance

What are a few ways to give my 05 PT a little more pep, be careful with your answers because I am limited on the car know-how.
Thanks in advance

If you are not inclined to doing it yourself, it becomes a question of how much should I spend.

If you haven't already, go ahead and register on PTCrew.com and check out their forum over there. They have a section known as 'The Mod Bible' with a collection of threads that give you a bunch of information and step-by-step guides for specific mods you can perform on your car.

Hope this helps ya. Let us know if you have any questions.

If you want to turn your PT into a racing car, forget it...sell it and go buy a Corvette.

But if you just want to increase its efficiency, get a smoother and more responsive riding and maybe FEW more HPs...I'd say that it's more about "feeling" than real performance boost though...so here are what you can look for:
  1. Properly gaped "Premium" sparkplugs (Iridium, Platinum, +4, etc)
  2. 8 mm + quality plug wires
  3. K&N or Airaid drop-in air filter
  4. Synthetic oil

Yep... I've done all of this over the last couple months and she purrs like a kitten...

I'll try it and let you guys know if I see a difference (which I more than likely will)

Thanks again!

There will be no power difference. If you were in need of a tune up you will see it running better, if a tuneup wasn't needed you won't notice a difference. With a K&N drop in filter, if you have an automatic, you will notice a bit better takeoff in 1st and 2nd will come on better. As far as bolt on mods the na PT just doesn't react to them nearly as well as bolt on mods for the turbo.

Forget the drop in air filter and go for the K&N cold air intake. Cost is higher than 50 hippies but the immediate response can be felt - "Betty" idles smoother, acceleration is more immediate, & car sounds much better. As for gas mileage, can't tell 'cause my foot is on the gas more!
