In Cali they crush the rides of street racers.

Plus, you'll never be able to get to the point of keeping up with anything serious because adding the turbo to an N/A block will blow it up before your able to obtain the boost you need.

If your serious, get it to a hot rod/street rod shop and beef up the bottom end to withstand the boost. Then, since your into the crazy/stupid sport of street racing, throw in a Nitrous Oxide kit.

Then you can have a real good cry when they catch you and crush it.

Yeah, when I read a post by Bob Stockum saying the N/A PTs put about 120hp to the wheels, I had a revelation: the PT will never be fast.

It's a great car to drive around, and it's fun to take turns in, and it's not slow enough to leave a lot to be desired, but it's not fast enough that you're afraid to put your foot into it.

My plans for a Cobra or an IROC on the other hand.. now that's a different story.

Nobody should go to races with an N/A cruiser, that's just asking to get laughed at. It's either gone cost you thousands to trade over to the Tiburon or cost the same to upgrade your cruiser ...take your pick. Wouldn't have cost you hardly anything if you would have bought the PTGT in the first place.

Ok I will agree that street racing is a bad idea but, I have a 2001 and would like a little more power. I looked around including some links from this site and cannot find a supercharger anywhere. I know they use to be available but are they no longer?

Jackson used to make a kit, but not any longer. Nor do they support or service them. All units/parts you'll find (even if you can find any) will most likely be used. As far as the supercharger goes, many people were not happy with its reliability.

Hahn Racecraft used to make a PT Turbo kit, but like Jackson, dropped the line. You might be able to find a used one, but remember that with parts like this, you have to be extremely careful when buying and make sure to inspect each and every part included in the deal. Oh yeah, and if you do happen to find a turbo, expect to pay in the ballpark of $2000 for it, keep it under 7psi of boost and you're looking at MAYBE 55hp at the crank.
