Default Suggestion on Spark plug and wire?

I have heard many voices that the stock spark plug wires aren't good and not fuel efficient.
I want to get some advices on what brand and model of spark plug and spark plug wire i should use.

btw, mine is 06 touring edition. 2.4liter 4-cly. 40k miles

Welcome to the forum.

A lot of us have gone for the Champion Double Platinum #7570 (new) #7440 (old) plugs gaped at .040in. As far as wires: Crane, Magnecor, MSD, almost any brand name wire set will do a good job and last a long time.

I just changed them out in my '06 a few weeks back.

Anything is better than the OEM... I just went with the Duralast wires from Advance and got Bosch Platinum +4 plugs. You can buy Performance wires but most say it's not worth the money.

I noticed an immediate improvement in acceleration but I wouldn't expect a gas mileage increase.... I haven't seen one. I mainly changed mine out because I had just bought the car and sure enough, it still had the originals in it at 49k miles.

I am running the exact same set-up as Travis. But I already replaced all the wires once at 30,000 and had 1 fail at 60,000. Its got all new +4 plugs and new wires now. We had a Neon a few years back and I bought Taylor wires. If you can find performance wires on the cheap then do it otherwise not worth the xtra money.

That's cool.

To the OP, don't forget your dielectric grease for the wires and anti-seize for the plugs...

Working in a machine shop gives me access to a bunch of various crap and I went with the heavy duty anti-seize on mine... I know, probably isn't going to make a difference but it was free and it's the stuff they use around here on a daily basis...

AutoZone.com | | Spark Plug | BOSCH PLATINUM PLUS 4

AutoZone.com | Vehicle Selection | Year

I went with the pre-gapped plugs... Duralast has just the one wire type AFAIK, at least that's all that's listed.

Biggest reason for my noticeable performance increase were the old plugs had a .057 gap (due to being set at .050) and when I put these in (gapped at .040) you could definitely tell when you hit the gas...

Now that I think about it, I got them at Autozone, not Advance. We've got both of them within 3 blocks of each other here
