Hi
I have a 2.2 Limited crd cruiser, the car is running really well other than two minor faults.I cannot change the direction of the interior fan and more annoyingly the airbag light keeps going off with a "ping"every time!!! I tried bringing up the error code using the ignition key and have been given a fault code of P0685.The only fault that comes up when I type this on web searches is an ASD relay control circuit fault and to change the relay. After reading that this controls ignition etc I'm a tad confused. Anybody got any ideas as to whether this is correct or is there another gremlin around the corner? Thanks Martin P.s. This is an English cruiser(dont know if that makes a difference) |

Marty, welcome to the forum. Yes, the 2.2 crd is different than anything we have here because we don't have any kind of diesel engine, so the fault code could mean something completely different.
When I pull it up here it's way over my head as to your problem.... P0685 SYMPTOM ASD RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT WHEN MONITORED With ignition on. Battery voltage above 10 volts. SET CONDITION An open or shorted condition is detected in the ASD relay control circuit. One trip Fault. POSSIBLE CAUSES ASD operation (A14) fused B+ circuit ASD relay resistance (K51) ASD relay control circuit open (K51) ASD relay control circuit short to ground PCM Sounds like something only a mechanic with a scanner can diagnose for you. By the way, have you tried the UK Cruiser forum. They might be able to help more than we can. Great bunch of people there and the forum is manly open except for a couple areas.
