Default synthetic trans fluid ok?

Is it ok to use synthetic trans fluid in our pt's? Just curious, as I plan on putting it in if it's a good idea

I had synthetic put into mine almost 40,000 miles ago. But here's something that said the regular ATF =4 is synthetic.

Chrysler ATF+4 (ATE) -- Introduced in 1998, ATF+4 is synthetic and replaces the previous ATF+3 fluid. Used primarily for 2000 and 2001 vehicles, it can also be used in earlier Chrysler transmissions (except 1999 and older minivans with 41TE/AE transmission). ATF+3 should continue to be used for 1999 and earlier minivans because of the potential for torque converter shudder during break in.

NOTE:Chrysler ATF+4 Must always be used in vehicles that were originally filled with ATF+4. The red dye used in ATF+4 is not permanent. As the fluid ages it may become darker or appear brown in color. ATF+4 also has a unique odor that may change with age. Therefore, do not relay on the color and odor of ATF+4 to determine if the fluid needs to be changed. Follow the OEM recommended service interval.

Chrysler ATF+5 for 2002 and newer models.

Now that I re-read what I found, it looks like ATF+5 was used in the 2002 and later but it doesn't say it's synthetic but does say the +4 was. Kind of confusing. I looked at my invoice when I had my flush done at the Chrysler dealer and I paid $4 for 16 quarts and it says SYN/FLUID. I saw the container that said SYNTHETIC on the side but not sure if it was ATF+4 or 5.

Interesting. I'm going to look into this.

So what your saying is, synthetic is OK for use in these transmissions then.

I think I might go w/ like Mobile Synthetic trans fluid or something then.

Stick with ATF +4 or ATF + 5.

I though we didn't answer that before. Kind of confusing, but if the container doesn't say it's synthetic, it's not. It's probably all ATF+4 just some of it is dino oil and some synthetic. Just look what it says on the container.
