We're the ignorant ones? Go spread your theory on some other forums and see how many people laugh in your face. Trust me, I've belonged to several forums over the past 10 years. You're the very first one who thinks pumping hot air into an engine is a good idea.

Oh....and the mileage difference? It's because a car should be warmed up in the winter before it's run, not for intake temperatures but for engine internals. Idling doesn't equate into fuel mileage. It's not just in NY where people get mileage differences in the winter. Lots of the rest of the country has a cold winter too. :P

Wow you are an idiot, moreso than others on this site. What do YOU think your stock t-stat is set to? And I wasn't reffering to only pt's.

195. Care to prove me otherwise on that too? I still haven't seen anything from you for proof besides your wild misunderstanding of psychics on the mileage increase.

Durr exactly, 195. Why do you think a "performance t-stat" is around 150-160 degrees? To increase power due to running a cooler motor. Why do you think the FACTORY set that stock t-stat to 195? To run a warmer, more efficient motor thats better at controlling emissions.

Why do you think aftermarket 160* t-stats yield worse gas mileage? For fun? Because nobody like gas mileage anyways? No. Basic physics.

Why do you think people in ny get 5+/- mpg difference in the summer time than the winter time? For fun? Because it's imaginary?

I don't think I'm that ignorant, possibly outdated , I have a PHD in PHYSICS although it was 35 years ago...no brag just fact ....the hot air on this thread really increased the post count
