2004 A/C

I was having problems with my car and took it in to be repaired. One of the first things they did was disconnect my A/C. That was not the problem. They figured out that it was the board and replaced it but did not reconnect the A/C. They say I would have to pay around $550.00 to hook it back up. Is there a way that I could do it myself?

Who is "they?"

Your AC is disconnected which turns out to have nothing to do with your issue and then you are told that it costs $550 to hook it back up?

Is this a business or mom and pop's backyard garage?

It was at the dealership. They told me that they could not be sure that it was not a problem. So they would have to charge me to reconnect. The board with labor and rental car was under warranty. It took them 3 weeks to get the board.

I'm going to pass on this and wait for CREWZIN to chime in, but I will say it sounds as if you are getting hosed which is typical for a dealership.

All I can add is the same thing that Travis said, your getting ripped off. Maybe, just maybe they might charge if they had to discharge the R134 but that should only cost about $30 to refill it, but to charge to put it back together when they took it apart to try and fix your problem! That's insane. See if you can get hold of the area rep or maybe a direct call to Chrysler.
